Ayurveda is a priceless gift given by our sages whose usefulness cannot be described in words. The history of Ayurveda is thousands of years old and even today it is the best. Foreign scientists are surprised after studying the principles of Ayurveda.
The word Ayurveda is made up of two words Ayush + Veda which means “Science of Life”. Ayurveda is not limited only to the treatment of diseases but it provides complete knowledge of life values, health and living.
According to archaeologists, the oldest book in the world is the Bhojpatra palm leaf Rigveda. Various scholars have considered its construction period to be from 3 thousand to 50 thousand years before Christ. This code also describes the most important principles of Ayurveda. Many such subjects are mentioned in respect of which even today’s scientists have not been successful. This proves the antiquity of Ayurveda. Therefore, we can say that Ayurveda was created around the origin of the universe.

आयुर्वेद शब्द दो शब्दों आयुष्+वेद से मिलकर बना है जिसका अर्थ है “जीवन विज्ञान’ – “Science of Life”‘. आयुर्वेद (Ayurved) केवल रोगों की चिकित्सा तक ही सिमित नहीं है अपितु यह जीवन मूल्यों, स्वास्थ्य एंव जीवन जीने का सम्पूर्ण ज्ञान प्रदान करता है
पुरातत्ववेत्ताओं के अनुसार संसार की प्राचीनतम पुस्तक भोजपत्र ताड़पत्र ऋग्वेद है. विभिन्न विद्वानों ने इसका निर्माण काल ईसा के 3 हजार से 50 हजार वर्ष पूर्व तक का माना है. इस संहिता में भी आयुर्वेद के अति महत्त्वपूर्ण सिद्धान्तों का वर्णन है. अनेक ऐसे विषयों का उल्लेख है जिसके संबंध में आज के वैज्ञानिक भी सफल नहीं हो पाये है. इससे आयुर्वेद की प्राचीनता सिद्ध होती है. अतः हम कह सकते हैं कि आयुर्वेद की रचना सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति के आस पास हुई है.
